The Leading Practices Poster Displays offer provinces, regions, hospitals, health care institutions and health management organizations, locally and abroad, the opportunity to share their leading practices and leadership initiatives. The Displays showcase new thinking and ideas in the delivery, policy and administration of health care.
HealthAchieve, in cooperation with Longwoods Publishing, is pleased to present the 2012 Leading Practices Poster Displays under the overall theme of “Leadership to Improve Health Care”. Leadership, particularly in health care, often has a focus on improving care and creating a better future. Examples of leadership can be found in an individual, a team or an entire organization. With this as a guiding principle, submissions are invited in any of the following categories:
- Access to Care – Proactive approaches for timely access to care
- Innovation – Enhancements in care delivery, IT, education and other support programs
- Patient Experience – Examples of patient centered care across the continuum
- Patient Safety & Quality – Enhancing practice to ensure safety and quality
Submission Guidelines
Your submission should be a 250 word summary of your initiative. Please ensure the summary includes the purpose and objectives and provides a clear explanation of the benefits or outcomes of the initiative.
The deadline to submit your abstract is Friday, July 20, 2012 by 11:59 pm.
All abstract submissions will be reviewed by the adjudication team and a selection of submissions will be invited to prepare their poster board for final adjudication and display at HealthAchieve.
Submissions approved will receive a confirmation containing further information regarding the guidelines for their poster design and display area. Due to space constraints, the number of abstracts accepted from a particular organization may be limited.
The final submissions will be adjudicated based on the following criteria:
- Originality
- Evidence that the practice achieved its objectives
- Objectivity
- Clarity and quality of presentation
- Practical implications
- Relevance to hospitals and health care

Deadline for Submission: Friday, July 20, 2012 by 11:59 pm.
